OBVIOUSLY

This series has been discontinued. Initially it was put on hiatus due to college work being deemed more important, but considering the fact that nobody really read it in the first place (likely because this is just some random fiction piece hidden somewhere in Blogspot and Corpse Party isn't a massively popular series as far as I know) there hasn't really been any motivation to continue it.

Also it was one of the worst-written pieces I'd ever attempted. The style of writing isn't at the same level as my usual writing because I was pushing myself to write without full plans set out in front of me, because things really needed to happen before I could write out what I had planned.

Jou, Yurie, Nijiko, Kazufumi, Sako, Teruhiko, Chitose, Kazuyo, Karina, Youku, Kyouya and Rumie will still be my little brats though, and a sweet little group for a game idea that goes back to the survival roots where you can try and save as many as possible. (Jou and Youku would be impossible to save though. Or Jou can be saved, but to do so, Yurie would have to die.)

Might one day plan out ways in which everyone can die! Everyone will have three ways of dying minimum (Not including Youku) and one or two routes that involve saving their asses.

Notable things: I made the mistake of in the very first chapter saying the students involved in this were all from the same class. There are three different classes in the year that these students come from. Kazuyo herself isn't even in 2-9. So I'm just going to post a few things about these characters that might make them more interesting, as well as their reason for being in detention in the first place.

So ages ago I made little character files for these characters (and below are new revised versions.) Furthermore, the game I used to make the original face avatar thingies has since updated. This means I can make better avatars for these guys. Before, there was a distinct lack of back hairs usable for short-haired males. Like, a total of two or three. So I revised these images.

Name: Akita Jou
Kanji: アキラジョー (Though I believe this reads Akira instead of Akita, same for Yurie)

Weight: 62.8 kg
Birth Date: May 1st

Hobbies: Playing football and climbing trees
Future Dream: To be an actor
Family: Yurie (sister), Miyoko (mother), Natsuo (Father), Ren (Younger sister)
Other Bio: Jou is quiet and prefers to remain in the background as an unnoticed person, being shy and suffering from social anxiety. He prefers to get on with things and despises procrastination, but is hardly the stereotypical nerd. In fact, things he perceives as nerdy irritate him to no end. He doesn't really like the others in the class but takes part in the Sachiko Ever After charm with his sister. In the main story he is killed my Yoshikazu in an attempt to save his sister's life. It is impossible to save him from Heavenly Host.

Reason for detention: Breaking a window.
Possible causes of death: Smashed by a hammer, falling, impalement.

Name: Akita Yurie

Other Bio: Though she and Jou are twins, Yurie often calls herself the older sister. She's a sporty person and loves to tease others, especially her brother. She is also very fashion conscious and forever worries about the state of her clothes and hair. She can't stand the sight of blood and can panic over little things such as split ends.

Reason for detention: Fighting with Nijiko.
Possible causes of death: Smashed by a hammer, choking, strangulation, stab wound to abdomen, blood loss following limbs being torn from body.

Name: Makino Nijiko
Kanji: 牧野

Other Bio: Nijiko is very accident prone, hence the bandage over her eye. She loves fluffy things and all things bright, shiny and sparkly, especially jewellery. If provoked she can totally flip out, saying all manner of things she doesn't mean such as calling the one who pissed her off a total bitch scumbag. Doesn't let anyone keep her down or get the better of her. Dating Kazufumi.

Other Bio: Kazufumi is emotional and easily upset. It is strangely easy to bring this boy to tears, but the rest of the time he will strongly deny any times he had been upset. He has a lot of fears and usually blames his step-father for his problems. Kazufumi has an addiction to candy and is always seen with some form of sweet in his hands, yet is somehow able to stay slim. It is implied, mainly by bullies such as Yurie and Sako, he has an eating disorder but not confirmed and probably not true considering the severely unreliable source.

Reason for detention: Refusal to work, swearing at staff.

She has no clear friends, usually only interacting with others for the sake of poking fun and enjoying herself. She has quite an unpleasant sense of humour, often poking fun at subjects such as death and is particularly unpleasant to classmates such as Chitose, Kazufumi and Rumie, but has a soft spot for Teruhiko as she has known him since she was little. Once in Heavenly host she shows a different side, being absolutely terrified by the situation and spending most of her time there in tears. She tells Rumie she is pregnant at one point and decides to tease her despite the desperate situation, commenting on how the child could be anyone's, even though she knows Rumie's crush is gay. She does not tease him for this as she herself is bisexual and for a time had a crush on Chitose.

Reason for detention: Violent or threatening behaviour towards others.

Teruhiko can be a little difficult to understand and may seem unusual to some. He is autistic, however tends not to tell anyone out of fear of being branded as a retard, especially by Sako. He often misinterprets jokes and emotions and often gets in trouble for not concentrating on the task at hand. Even when told to go away, he tends to follow Sako around like a loyal lapdog.

Reason for detention: Violence and threatening behaviour to staff.
Possible causes of death: Traumatic injury to the head leading to indented skull fracture, bleeding following loss of arms, decapitation, stab wound to throat and head, asthma attack set off by panic attack (if Sako dies and he discovers her), strangulation

Rumie: Threats and Safety

((My apologies for the silent hiatus for anyone who happens to have been reading this. I was failing my college course so I had to change my focus to that.))

I was on the floor, holding Nishihara close until eventually she calmed down. Kyouya had gone exploring to see if he could find anything. Eventually, he came back over, looking lost.
"Nothing but holes." He replied. "If we had a way of crossing them, that would be great, but, well, we don't. Is Nishihara okay?"
I shrugged. "She's stopped crying, so I'd assume so..."
Kyouya offered her a hand and she reluctantly accepted. We both stood and she dusted herself off, sighing heavily. "All I can find are dead ends and holes..." He muttered, tone one of heavy defeat. "There's a door, but I can't get it open. It's really shut up tight, annoyingly."
"Locked?" Nishihara asked.
"I think so, yeah."
She gave a nod and we walked on. Kyouya was in a foul mood, and he walked away, snapping for us to follow. Even Nishihara was afraid of him, I could tell. She hung back a moment more before walking after him, and eventually I jogged on behind.
"I wish I could cheer him up..." I admitted as we reached the nearest hole.
"It'd take a lot to cheer someone up in here." I saw Nishihara lean down to search around a body, hands inside the deceased girl's pockets. "Besides, he probably has his mind on...other things..."
"Other things?" I repeated uncertainly.
"Yeah. Things like the girls he has to protect...plus..."
I looked round, then. "What do you mean?"
"Well, I already let slip I'm pregnant. He's probably concerned."
"Wouldn't anyone be? You're, what, fifteen?"
Nishihara shrugged. "I like to think he has paternal instincts. Wouldn't that be cute?"
"Paternal...?"
"You know, he's protective over me and the baby, like a good father. Paternal."
I clenched my fists then. Had Sako been fooling around with my boyfriend or was she just messing with me? Either way, I couldn't explain how much I hated her right then.

I was starting to get real hungry. How long had we been here? I stuck close to Kyouya as we walked, occasionally shooting a glare back to Sako. She would reply with a cheerful grin. Every now and then we stopped to test the doors, see if they would open. Nishihara had something in her hand, but it didn't seem to be anything good. After a while, Kyouya-chan brightened up and picked up the pace.
"I remembered there were loose boards over the room we started in!" He explained excitedly. "We could get across some of the holes in the floor using those, but we have to move carefully and keep our balance."
We nodded firmly, agreeing. He hefted up the biggest board he could find and dragged it back to a wide hole in the floor before laying it across. Arms out, he made his way around to the other side, careful, ever so careful. At least I got a really good view of his backside. Shooting a glare to Nishihara, I went across next, and she read whatever was in her hand while she waited. I tried to glance over to read as I crossed, but I almost lost my balance. Kyouya caught my arm and smiled.
"Careful, Rumie-san." He warned, and I eagerly threw my arms around him, nuzzling my head into his chest. He awkwardly patted my shoulder and I turned my head to stick my tongue out at the bitch behind us. She just smiled bravely and wobbled across the board.
"Read this!" She insisted, grinning and forcing it at us while we were having a moment! Kyouya sighed exasperatedly and took it, skimming over it.
"Naho's notes..."
I tuned him out, walking on a little. I could hear an interesting sound. Like wet tearing, like someone was really digging their fingers into something big and meaty. I stopped, finding a piece of paper with something hurriedly scrawled onto it in what I hoped was red ink.

She...she's gone. She's gone. My beloved Akino, so beautiful, her perfectly sculpted body, and she's gone. The bitch destroyed my last link to my one true love and now I fear I have lost her forever. I feel like I'm just trapped in this reverie, wanting and needing the mere image of my love to sustain my sanity. Then again, if Karina heard me talking this way of Akino, she would insist my sanity was already gone. That I was sick. Here, I am not the sick one. It is her. She, who readily destroys everything I hold dear, and smashes the hopes and dreams of all. I will kill her. I will kill her. She has to die. She took away my last hope and she has to die I have to kill her kill her kill her die she has to die I am going to destroy her just as she has destroyed my hope Karina will die

It trailed off in pretty much the same manner. I felt a presence behind me, and turned to see Kyouya and Sako had caught up with me, and I expected a reprimand. Instead, Sako clamped a hand over her mouth and nose, having gone very pale, and Kyouya looked solemn. It took me a moment to realise they had read the note over my shoulder, and a moment more to catch the smell in the air. The same smell you get on your period or during dissections. The smell of unfiltered blood and gore, still with the wet tearing sound, the occasional grunt and slurp, as though someone were eating the very meat they were tearing into. We exchanged worried looks before pressing forward.

Turning a corner, we were met with a simply awful sight.

A boy in red was crouched over a bloody, torn body that had once been a teenage girl, supposedly the Karina in the note. Of course, there was a Karina in our class, but I didn't dare so much as think that girl could be her. I also knew an Akino. Kiyomizu's little sister, or at least one of them, was called Akino. He came from an exceptionally large family, I remembered. The boy crouched over the corpse was tearing into it with his hands and lifting the lumps of meat to his mouth. I think he was eating them. That was enough to push Sako to throwing up. Ew. We jerked away from her with a quiet yelp and the boy turned. He had purple hair in a long plait, but the plait had been over his shoulder, riding down his chest, where it too was covered in blood. His eyes were a dull blue and everything seemed to make his already pale skin glow an eerie white. The emblem on his breast pocket was difficult to make out, but I already knew what school he was from. It was Youku. Our Youku. Which meant the blue-haired corpse pulled open like a dissected frog was our Karina.

Youku didn't say anything, just stared at us for the longest time. Then, he licked the blood off his hand and off something glinting in his grip. A knife? I felt a shiver run down my spine and suddenly I wanted nothing more than to be home in bed, maybe with Kyouya cuddled up to my side. "Looks like we have some little piggies watching us, don't we, Karina?" He reached over and made her lifeless head move, nodding as though she could agree. "They look like they could make some very tasty morsels." His tongue flicked over his lips and he began to advance on us. I felt frozen in place, but someone pulled me away by my arm. Sako was leading me and Kyouya away briskly, thanking him for his 'offer' and saying they really ought to go find the others. Footsteps followed. He was following.

"Come back here, you sons of bitches." Came the awful rasp. I sped up at once, almost pulling Sako over. I gripped her wrist, practically dragging her after me, and we sped down the hall, frightened out of our wits. We had taken a turn away from the huge hole we'd bridged and now we were bound to get lost. Matters were made far worse when a girl rounded the corner in the opposite direction and we collided, all four of us falling in a heap. I looked up, saw Youku approaching and shut my eyes tight.

A blood-curdling scream pierced the building.

Sako: Damn It All To Hell

I settled down for a little rest after a moment. We were still in the locker room, not moved yet. Teruhiko was still trying to figure out what we'd just found. It was a book, seemingly a diary. Most of the pages were encrusted in blood. Finally, he found pages he could read and started speaking them out loud.
"I've lost track of the date. I can't tell you how long I've been, maybe days, weeks or only hours. I'm so cold, but I found some notes. If I can find my friends, maybe I can get out of here. These notes from the other people say there's a way out of here. I just have to find the others and perform the charm backwards, chant the words and put the paper doll back together. Once for each one of us and once for the spirit of Sachiko. It'll make her happy or something. I need others with me for it to work. I can't find my friends and the children are closing in." He paused and frowned. "Wait, the children?"
I shook my head quickly. I was kind of having a panic attack, and he had no clue how to react. He didn't now what to do to help. I didn't care, not really. He was still stood by me, and that was enough for me.

I don't know how long it took. Finally I'd calmed down and he had his arm around me.
"I need the bathroom." I muttered when I was calm. I wiped my eyes on my hand and he bit his lip.
"I don't want to separate."
"Come with me then."
"Just pee yourself!" He insisted. I slapped him.
"No, don't be disgusting!"
He paused, hand hovering over his cheek where I'd hit him. "Nishihara-san..."
I turned and stalked off. I was sick of all this. All of it. The corpses, the nightmare, the death, all the blood and guts and bugs and ew, I can't stand it.

I went to the bathroom, and then walked out and began to make my way back to the locker room, hand resting on my belly. I had to stop for a moment in one of the halls to empty my stomach. God, I was so sick, I just wanted to go home. I wiped my eyes quickly and went to walk forward, but another earthquake struck, and all I could do was crouch down and wait for it to pass. I was so scared. I could hear things fall and break around me and I had to call out, because if I didn't, what if I lost Teruhiko? "Teruhiko!" He cried meekly, keeping my head down as dust and wood fell. It was in my hair and my clothes and my nails, and I felt something sharp slice against my hand, and I cried. I let tears run down my face as I tried to calm down, and in the end I was sobbing and I hated it. "Teruhiko, I'm sorry!" I cried as the earthquake finally subsided.
"Nishihara?" A voice called. A girl's voice, but still I stupidly called for Teruhiko.
"Nishihara!" Hands grabbed my shoulder and someone was shaking me, trying to pull me up. "Nishihara, stand up, come on, get up! Please be okay!"
I looked up and saw Tsutsumi and Ishizaki. Taking a few deep breaths, I let them help me up.
"Are you okay?" Tsutsumi asked with a look of deep concern. "Did you get hurt in the earthquake? Have you seen anyone else?"
"Uh..." I gave a slight nod, uncertain.
"You saw Iwase?" Ishizaki asked, arching an eyebrow.
I nodded again. "Yeah, back by the pool."
"What pool?"
"Uh, the pool. Come on." I walked off confidently, leading the way, but where the door to the locker room should have been, there was just wall. "No!" I shrieked, hammering at the wall. "Where'd the door go? It was right here, between that classroom and those stairs! Teruhiko! Teruhiko, answer me!"
They each grabbed an arm and pulled me away from the wall. They looked terrified, I don't think they'd ever seen me in such a state. "We were going to escape together!" I cried. "You promised to make everything okay! You promised to hurt Matsuno and help with the baby and everything! You said it would all be okay! That we could get out of here!"
They helped me to the floor and Tsutsumi held me, resting my head on her chest and rubbing my back, and I could hear them whispering, about what I had just said, about the baby. I wished I was dead, but no such satisfaction would come.

Kazufumi: Delicious Smells

I don't know how long we've been travelling. A long time, certainly. I always snacked between meals, but still managed to be absolutely famished by dinner. Well, admittedly, I tended not to have lunch or breakfast. Now I was wishing I had considering all I'd eaten today was a small chocolate bar and lolly. We could have been walking for days. Either way, I was really hungry, and, well...
"I need to go." I announced suddenly. Nijiko arched an eyebrow.
"Go?"
"Yeah, go. Like, I really need to go."
She was silent for a moment before sighing. "There's a bathroom upstairs."
"Will you wait here for me?"
"Of course. You go."
I nodded gratefully and hurried off to the stairs. There were desks blocking the way, but that didn't bother me, not totally,so I just clambered over them. I kept my gaze straight ahead. Seeing all those bodies was still making me feel so sick. How long had we been here?

The boys' bathroom was heavily boarded up. The girls' was hanging open, but, well, I wasn't a girl. Tentaively, I went in despite my better judgement. It seemed empty and quiet but for the creaking of old wood. I tried the first door, but it was locked. All of them seemed to be locked, actually.
"Boys aren't allowed in the girls' bathroom.' Stated a voice. It felt like a hand of ice had gripped my heart.
"The boys' bathroom is out of order..." I stammered as I stumbled back. "I...I'll find somewhere else to go..."
The spirit of a little girl appeared before me and that was it, I ran out of the room screaming, begging her not to hurt me.

When I came back to my senses, I was stood outside a classroom. I was lost. I let out a feeble cry for Nijiko-san. I didn't want to be alone, I desperately didn't want to be alone, but all I could find here was an empty bucket and the splattered remains of another student. I relieved myselfinto the bucket and went exploring, calling for the names of my classmates all the while.
"Kotani! Nishimoto! Kiyomizu! Anyone?"
The smell of something frying filled my nostrils. It smelled...delightful. Something was cooking, and I was so hungry. My belly told me to follow my nose and I obeyed, stopping outside the school lab. I pushed the door, only to find it locked.
"Hello?" I called as I knocked on the door. "Hello, is anyone in there?"
No reply. I went back to walking.

I found the key to the lab eventually. It was among some human remains, and I still hadn't seen anyone from school. I was tired and scared, and I'd been crying and calling for help. I guess this is what Nishimoto meant when she would tell me I was a mouse rather than a man. I just wanted some company in this hell, someone to be with when I eventually died! Someone would find me eventually, I thought as I sat opposite the corpse of a young girl. She looked to be a junior schooler. Very young. I stared at her a long while, trying to keep from wailing, and eventually I noticed something in her breast pocket. Something bronzey-gold and small, and shiny. I crept forward and, apologising softly, took the item, finding myself holding the key for the lab.

The door slid open happily once I'd turned the lock. "Hello?" I called as I stepped in, looking around. No-one was there, apart from a girl tied to a chair with piano wire, the top half of her body horribly burnt. And yet I could still smell that chip fat smell, the smell of cooking oil. A full circle of the room showed plenty of pots of boiling oil, but nothing to eat. Nothing being cooked. Nothing but the girl...but she couldn't be the source of that delicious smell.

I looked again, and this time, I found a young boy hiding under a table. Well, I say young, he was at least 17, maybe older. He was wearing a school uniform for a school I didn't recognise. "Hello?" I asked. The boy grabbed my shoulders.
"You have to hide!" He hissed, pulling me under the table with him. "I just came here with my friends and brother, and now I think they're all dead."
"Calm down..."
"Have you seem the bodies?!"
"I have...but you can't survive this if you're hysterical. Close your eyes and go to your happy place, that's what I always do."
The boy did so and I took in his dishevilled appearance. He had brown hair and blue eyes, and he was taller and thinner than me. Finally, he opened his eyes. "Have you seen anyone from Ritoruiro Girls' School?"
I shook my head. "You're not from there."
"No, I'm from Pichitsuri University School...my sister is in here somewhere though. I need to find her. If Akimitsu and Kunihide are dead and I already know Noaki is, he's hanging in the toilets upstairs and it's all my fault and-"
I slapped him then. "Shut up and stop panicking!"
There was a loud thump and a groan from beyond our hiding place, and I covered the boy's mouth with my hand. Even so, we were found.

Chitose: Lost and Found

I was frightened. Certainly. I thought all my years or training myself to have a doctor's mind would mean I would be ready, ready to face gore and dead bodies, but this wasn't the same, this was like a portal into the mind of someone insane. It was frightening. In the distance, I could hear hard, fast breathing. Hyperventilation. I picked up the pace, turning a corner to see what I could find, but getting there I hadn't prepared myself. I saw someone lying down, not quite dead, but dying, certainly. A pair of scissors stuck from their stomach. Opposite was a girl, curled up tight, blood on her hands and face. It took me a moment to realise her face had stitches on it, and they'd split open. I went over to her, as it was too late for the dying boy.
"He was trying to kill me, it was self-defence!" The girl cried as I examined her injuries.
"It's okay." I told her gently. "It's okay. I understand. Don't worry." It was Kazuyo I was crouched before, I could tell that much, but she was very upset, terrified. No wonder. A boy just attacked her with a knife. She threw her arms around my neck and sobbed. I rubbed her back to calm her. "You're safe now. I'm here. It's safe. We'll find the rest of the class." I helped her stand and she clung to me, sobbing still. I shushed her gently, patting her back, but then something jolted us out of our thoughts.

"Jou!" The voice screamed. We broke apart and stared at one another.
"That was Yurie." Kazuyo stated, going pale. She was best friends with Yurie. "We have to find her."
I wasn't so sure that was a good idea myself if I'm honest. I mean, I'd just found her injured and totally freaked out, and she wasn't exactly in the best frame of mind. I opened my mouth to object, but she ran off, calling for her friend.
"Kazuyo!" I scolded, running after her, but I tripped. I turned to see the boy who'd been stabbed holding tight to my ankle. "Get off!" I yelled, kicking.
"I'm going to enjoy watching you die." He hissed. I screamed.
"Get off! Please! Get off! I haven't done anything wrong, I swear, please get off! There's nothing I can do for you, I'm sorry...I'm just a child..."
"You're dead meat." The boy hissed as I reached down to get his hands off, but he had a vice like grip. It was amazing. He'd been close to death a moment ago.
"Please! My friends are in danger!"
"Your friends are all going to die here, just like me and all my friends. You'll all die horribly and painfully and I'll be watching on, laughing! Laughing!" He started laughing then, a twisted, half-choked sound from within his blood-coated throat. I think I began to hyperventilate again.

I must have passed out then. When I next woke up, I was lying on a bed in an old, beaten infirmary, someone looking over me. "Kazuyo?" I asked blearily, but I quickly realised it was a boy. "W-where am I...?"
He didn't answer.
"Where's Kazuyo? Can you even talk?"
"I can't find Sako..." The boy muttered. "She went to the toilet and there was an earthquake and when I went up there she was gone..."
"Iwase?" I asked blearily, but the boy walked off. "Iwase, stop!" But he was already gone. I think I was alone...

Yurie: Life Saver

When I came to, I was sprawled over something soft and wet and sticky. It was in my hair and under my nails, and oh god, it stank. I kept my eyes shut. Something heavy and warm and soggy was slumped over me. I remembered dragging my brother away from that zombie, and slipping. He screamed in pain as I fell, and he fell too as the zombie struck him, pushing me away down the hole I fell through, shouting for me to go. He was in so much pain. It was horrifying. Finally, I cracked open my eyes, trying to peer through the darkness, and I just about made out a pair of bloodshot blue eyes, or were they purple? They were lifeless, mouth running with blood now dried, tears staining his agonised face. His pale face was framed with blond hair. Fresh dead. With a horrified shriek, I threw the body off me, scrambled to my feet and desperately brushed myself off. Hyperventilating, I burst into hysterical sobs, wishing more than anything for a bath and my best body wash. Slowly, my eyes were drawn back to the mangled remains of the boy that had been lying on me. He was wearing a Sekingessha Academy uniform and his body was...barely a body. Everything below his ribcage was probably still up above. I shrieked in absolute emotional agony.
"Jou! My brother! Jou! No, this can't be real, no, no...Jou..." I collapsed to my knees in tears. I couldn't handle it. I sobbed loudly into my hands before gaining the courage to look at him again. His arms had been torn off. Slowly, shakily, I cuddled him close, sobbing into his shoulder. His head flopped back, no force to keep it up. My precious twin. My beloved brother. I kept screaming and crying and holding his bloody form close until his heat had gone and even then a little longer. How would I ever tell mum and dad? Jou was dead. Horribly killed. I lay him down, whimpering. That monster had killed my brother.

I walked through the hall, fists clenched, anger bulling through me. I would make that foul monster pay with every fibre of my being. I didn't care what it would take, I would find that beast and kill it.

A little walking around and all I found was the infirmary. It was the only door I could get open. Well, that and the boys' bathroom, but all that was in there was a ghost trying to use the facilities in peace. I felt bad when he told me to close the door. Why was I snooping around the boys' loos anyway? Anyway, that wasn't the really important thing. I was shuffling about, hugging myself for a little warmth. Every now and then I would pass the bodies that I had fallen upon, and Jou's body a little along. I'd closed his eyes and laid my blazer over his remains. I didn't care how cold I got, I wasn't moving that blazer. It was decency. It was the best I could do for him until I could get outside.

I suddenly froze. A bone-chilling groan was echoing through these halls. I'd armed myself with a wooden plank. I was ready, or so I thought. Turning, I saw that monster approaching, and I ran at it with a yell of anger. I swung my plank and it splintered on his arm, half flying away. I stared for a moment before trying to stab the monster but it didn't pierce. Something hit the side of my head hard. I stumbled against the wall with a grunt, losing hold of my weapon, and turned and ran on instinct. The monster was following. If I hid, maybe I wouldn't end up like Jou. I bolted into the infirmary and desperately looked for somewhere to hide. There was a body by the door, a girl clutching her throat. I tried to squirm under the mattress of one of the infirmary beds. I tried to calm my breathing. I had to make it out of here...for Jou...for him...

And then the creature slumped in. I heard it for a moment before the door shut and all was silent.

I was safe...

Or so I thought.

His hammer slammed down on the bed. Parts of me fell through the bars of the bed frame. The agony never did fade...

Nijiko: Love Throughout

We waked it together. The long halls of death and destruction, just myself and my Kazufumi. He was a really sweet guy. Took one look at this place and promised to protect me. Unfortunately I know it'll be me who protects him. He's sweet, but weak, in mind and body. It's adorable, really. He's the cutest boy in class and he's all mind, even if he is going through a phase of shaving one side of his head and always has a lunch bag full of sweets hanging off his arm like a lifeline. He loved sweets. I think he loved them more than he loved me. Then again, he doesn't need me to survive.

As we walk, he offers me sweets, and I refuse as I find my eye drawn to each and every body there. I found myself unnerved beyond belief. Everything felt so wrong, and Kazufumi was trying to pretend he was unfazed. I could feel the slick sweat of nerves on his hand. Still I kept a tight hold. I felt like I was the only thing keeping him from breaking down crying, which in all honesty is very unfair to him because while he's a little sensitive, he's not a baby...then again, we are surrounded by corpses, but they couldn't be real...could they? No, this was just some stupid Halloween prank.

Anyway, we stopped for a rest in a classroom. There was a blue flame in the corner.  We sat to rest our legs and he reached into his lunch bag, offering me a bar of chocolate. Though hungry, I refused. I felt sick. This whole place, whole situation, it was sickening. Kazufumi was just trying to calm himself, I decided, although maybe thinking that was in itself me trying to calm myself. I drew my knees to my chest with a sigh. "Where do you think we are?" I asked. Kazufumi shrugged.
"Maybe we died from the fall and this is hell."
"Don't say that!" I smacked his shoulder and he apologised softly. Then a third voice spoke.

"I'd agree that this is hell. You're not dead yet though. It's just a matter of time."

We jumped, looking round for the source of the voice. All that was in here with us was that weird-ass blue flame. We stared a moment before I cleared my throat. "Where are we? Who are you?"
"Heavenly Host Elementary. Hallowed grounds no living thing should enter."
It didn't say anything about who it was. It sounded female, but that was all I could say for certain. "How did we get here?" I asked.
"How should I know? You probably did one of those stupid charms or spells or something to piss off some spiritual something, how should I know? Honestly, stupid people like you, stupid living people, you never stop to think about what you're doing."
We were both stunned into silence by that. I looked below the flame and saw a skeleton in a summer school dress. The uniform wasn't one I recognised. After a while, Kazufumi looked up, spoke up.
"Where are the others?"
"Your friends?" Asked the flame.
"Our friends. They did the charm too...also some other kids I don't like, actually, but yeah, mostly f-" He cut off when I gave him a sharp elbow to the ribs.
"Who knows? They could be in this room right this moment, in a different space. This whole school is a mess of bubble dimensions. I never saw my friends again, and neither will you."
She disappeared with a loud fwoosh, leaving a slight glow behind for a brief moment before we were lost in the cold and the dark. We huddled together for warmth, wondering what to do now. If this was true and we wouldn't see the others again, this whole thing was an absolute disaster. We were going to die here. After a moment I felt something press into my hand. A sweet. I gave my boyfriend a questioning look and he sighed.
"Last one in the box. Who knows how long we'll be here? It's not much, but it's something for you to eat...and where else do we find things?"
"Maybe they have a canteen, who knows?" I stood, pulling him up with me. "Come on, Kaz. I don't care what that glowing bitch says. We're going to find Kazuyo and Nishimoto and Yurie and all the others and we're going to get out of here."

((Hi guys! If I'm a little slow in updates at times, I blame illness, yay!...Seriously, if I hadn't been ill this and so much other stuff would have been done yesterday...))
